Fly Away

It’s a quiet Sunday morning.  That’s the way I like it.

Feb 13

Would you believe the background above was made with only 3 drops of ink? It was. Two drops of Adriondak Butterscotch re-inker and one drop of Pesto. It’s fun and easy if you’d like to give it a try.

  • Spray your watercolor paper with plain water
  • Drop a couple spots of color from 2 or 3 re-inker ink colors onto the page
  • Tilt the paper up and let the colors/inks run
  • Continue to spritz with water on areas you’d like to run more or lighten

If you’d like, you can mute the entire page by covering it gently with a dry paper towel to soak up excess ink/water. This page was left as is to dry.

  1. Just tried that with alcohol, now I’ll try it with water. I like what it does over gesso and then using a heat gun to make it “crackle”. Fun to play with paper!
